Let us not glorify our martyrs and our valiant soldiers

For in their ‘folly’ to lay their own lives and risk their own homes to save us millions, lies our complacency exposed.

Let us not vilify our politicians

For in their ineptitude lies our trust exposed.

For in our faith in them, we often let ourselves down.

Let us not condemn the evils

For in their terror lie our weaknesses exposed.

The handful that they are; as they still can thwart our collective force and make us look small.

Let us not pray for a future that is healthy

For in its endeavor we forego the prodigal lives we live in the present.

Let us not have friends and neighbors

For in friendship lies our helplessness exposed.

And the neighbors breed jealousy.

Let us not have places of worship

For in HIM we leave our well-being exposed.

And in HIM we entrust our false beliefs.

Let us not think of our Children’s future

For in it lies our own parenthood maligned.

For the future that exists for our children can only be the wrath of our own misdeeds. 

Lets us not have Governments

For in its governance lies our lack of concern exposed.

And in its functionaries lie our negligence engraved.

Let us not have education

For in it lie our aspirations twisted.

Let us not have commerce

For in it lie our motives exposed.

Let us not seek the truth

For in truth we leave ourselves exposed.

Let us not have the ‘good’

For in goodness we leave our lives exposed.

Let us not…..

For at least we will still go on living, though completely exposed!!!
